Art Classes at EAST

Thoughtful visual art experiences for children, families, and curious makers within the larger EAST creative community.

A Place to Make, Discover, and Belong.

Visual Arts at EAST is one part of a larger creative community where children and families can paint, build, sculpt, sketch, perform, make music, tell stories, and dream together.

EAST grew from Tenn Little Birds and from families asking for meaningful ways to stay connected through the little years, the big-kid years, and beyond. Our classes are shaped around the ways children learn and make at different ages, with room for connection, experimentation, growing confidence, and individual expression.

Our art programming invites students to follow their curiosity, trust their ideas, experiment with materials, and experience the joy of making in community.

This is a space for messy hands, big ideas, brave choices, and beautiful surprises.

Art Classes at EAST

A place to make, discover, and belong. Our art classes invite children to explore materials, follow their ideas, build creative confidence, and grow as artists within the larger EAST community. Each class is thoughtfully designed for a different age and stage, with plenty of room for curiosity, experimentation, and individual expression.

Ages 1–3

Toddler Art

A warm, playful first studio experience for little ones and their grown-ups. Children explore color, texture, movement, and sensory materials through open-ended art invitations designed for curious hands and whole-body learning.

Perfect for: Littles and caregivers ready to get messy, discover new materials, and enjoy creative time together.

Ages 3–5

Preschool Art

Designed for preschoolers ready for a little more independence in the studio. Through stories, sensory exploration, and hands-on projects, children strengthen fine-motor skills, experiment with materials, practice making creative choices, and build confidence in their own ideas.

Perfect for: Preschoolers ready to explore independently, make their own creative choices, and have fun seeing where their ideas lead.

Mixed Ages

Open Art Studio

A welcoming mixed-age studio where young artists create alongside one another through thoughtful, open-ended projects. Children explore materials, tools, and techniques at their own level while following their curiosity, experimenting with ideas, and finding inspiration in the creative community around them.

Perfect for: Young artists who enjoy the freedom to explore, create at their own pace, and connect with other kids through art.

Ages 5+

Young Artists Studio

A studio experience for growing artists ready to take their ideas further. Students explore painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, printmaking, and more while building skills with new tools and techniques. Projects encourage children to take creative risks, make thoughtful artistic choices, and develop a creative voice that feels genuinely their own.

Perfect for: School-age artists ready to deepen their skills, experiment with new techniques, and develop their own artistic point of view.

Our Art Studio Philosophy

We believe art is a language children already speak.

Our job is to give them space, materials, guidance, and encouragement so their ideas can grow.

At EAST, we value process over perfection, curiosity over comparison, and creative courage over “getting it right.”
