Fall Classes at EAST Collective

An artist-led arts studio in East Nashville — theater, visual art, music, and adult acting, for kids and adults. Here’s the full fall lineup.

Want to try before fall?

A couple of summer options are open now: Little Story Players runs weekly for younger kids, and adults can drop into a Meisner Lab. Either is a low-key way to feel the room first.

Kids’ Theater

Theater for kids from preschool through the pre-teen years — games, movement, improvisation, and stories built together. Classes step up by age, from first pretend-play to real ensemble work, with the focus on play rather than performance pressure.

I see her totally activated and engaged — something she clearly looks forward to all week.— Ariel S., Story Players parent

K–2nd Grade

Story Players

A playful, drop-off theater class where kids build characters and tell stories through games, movement, voice work, and guided scenes.

ARTsters is hands-on studio art for every age — from a baby’s first sensory play alongside a grown-up, to school-age projects, to a relaxed adult studio. New materials, a new theme each week, and real making.

Mixed Ages

A mixed-age art class for homeschool learners — techniques, materials, and creative challenges.

Music

Music made by hand and voice — ukulele, singing, rhythm, and writing songs from scratch. For the kid who’s always inventing tunes around the house.

Ages 6–10

Songwriters

Ukulele, singing, rhythm, and the foundations of songwriting — playful, collaborative, and hands-on.

More music at Tenn Little Birds

Our sister studio runs Rhythm Kids and Music Together for younger kids, a block over at 819C Woodland. If your child wants more music than our fall lineup holds, that’s the place.

Heads up: Tenn Little Birds registers through its own system — you’ll use a separate login from EAST.

Adult Acting (Meisner technique)

Meisner-based actor training for adults, taught by working actors. No experience needed — you don’t even have to think of yourself as “an actor.” It’s for the overthinkers, the singers and writers, the former theater people who stepped away for work and kids and life, and anyone who wants to get out of their head and put their attention on the person in front of them. Less performing, more listening and responding honestly. Drop into a single lab, or commit to the 10-week cohort.

I found such a deep connection — not only to those in the cohort, but to my own creative well of emotions.— Fabi C., Spring 2026 Cohort

10-Week Cohort · No Experience Needed

Meisner Foundations: The Art of Listening

Meisner-based training that begins where truthful acting begins: listening. Co-taught by Allison and Ryan, capped at 12. Absolute beginners welcome.
